AMS Auto GmbH was founded in 1994. Initially, we dealt with vehicle repairs, spare parts sales, and the restoration of classic cars. In 2001, we launched an online business. We first went online with the website www.ams-hagen.de, where we sold mounts and accessories for mobile navigation systems over the internet. Shortly afterwards, I needed a protective cover for my vehicle. The protective cover I still had was too small for my new vehicle. The prices for high-quality protective covers were too high for me, and I didn't want the cheap protective covers for my own car. Thus, a new business idea was born: high-quality car protective covers at a fair price. We then started producing car covers and then created another online shop under the name www.KFZ-Schutzdecken.de. Thanks to our extensive contacts in the classic car scene, we were able to sell our first covers quickly, and demand grew steadily. In order to offer our high-quality car covers at an affordable price without compromising on quality, it was essential to produce large quantities.

We quickly reached the limits of our storage capacity and needed to expand our premises. An extension was the quick solution. During the restoration of my own classic car, I needed spare parts that were unavailable. As a trained master toolmaker, it wasn't difficult for me to redesign these parts and then had them reproduced by companies with appropriate machine tools. Manufacturing individual parts is uneconomical, so I immediately manufactured these parts in larger quantities and offered them to relevant brand dealers. This allowed me to quickly resell the parts and free up funds to manufacture more parts. This is how I found several other companies that also reproduced spare parts and purchased spare parts from them as well. This is how we launched another online shop, www.Oldtimer-Ersatzteile24.de. Our range of classic car spare parts grew steadily, and we rented additional space. In 2012 we decided to build another hall on the property in order to continue to work economically.
